What determines facial and body hair growth??

(NOT talking about head hair).

I'm a 25 year old guy. I shave my face daily and sometimes my body. I shave usually in the morning around the same time.

Sometimes, it seems like the hair has grown back faster over the night than other nights. OR even throughout the day.

Sometimes it's thicker than usual, sometimes not.

What determines the amount, consistancy, and rate of which it grows?

Is it purely random?

the first answer is hormones. But if you notice that the growth rate is changing by the day, then it is the types of foods you are eating. Some foods will make hair grow faster while some does not. You would have to make a note of what you are eating.

It's from the genes from your parents.

What determines facial and body hair growth??

Testosterone determines hair growth in men. Check your medication, could be increasing testosterone. Could go to Dr for a testosterone test to see your level. Alot is genetics though. Shaving leads to ingrown hairs and some say makes it grow faster. Try laser hair removal.
